At present exact data is not available however at an Alfa Tech session in Poway at Erik Rathmann's JJ Romeo suggested we have a little drag race. He has a boattail Spyder with a 5.0 Ford V8. This should be fun! After most people had left and the road was empty we lined up. Erik dropped his arm and off we went. We were about 10-15 feet from eachother all the way through 3rd gear.
We estimate we did 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and hit about 90. Top speed for current Leela is estimated at around 150 at present, maybe 155. Once the new engine is in we should have another 60-70 hp. This should put top speed over 160. The car now has the LSD.
The new engine with Richard Jemison's cams is together and the Megasquirt FI ready to be installed. These upgrades along with balancing, porting and a other tweaks should put horsepower over 200. This will be an increase of about 50 hp. Should be exciting!
